02/17/17 WE ALL NEED REMINDING

I think I said this recently, but if I did (and i did), it is worth repeating. Actually it must be repeated because it is so important.

We don't have to know how or why it is true, but sitting under the teaching or preaching or counsel of the word of God CHANGES US, miraculously, as we are willing to accept God's word.

Even when we do not know that we need changing or when we don't understand what kind of change we need, if we are eager to join with others in hearing and reading and heeding the word of God, then God does the miraculous work of leading and delivering us into a life that is well pleasing to Himself.

If we set God's standards and expectations by our own world view, we betray God. We must take time to be holy. We must invest the time and we must surrender our minds into the will of God. We must come to God in a spirit of humility and hunger.

Remember, there is not any part of our lives that is exempt from the Lordship of Christ. We have no rightful claim on any part of our lives, since we are not our own because we are bought with a price. And we are not smart enough, strong enough, rich enough, talented enough, good enough to rule our own lives. The only wise choice, the only right choice is to find God's will and do it.

We find God's will in God's word. God has given us His word, His Spirit to guide us into all truth in His word, and His preacher/teachers to feed us and lead us in His word.
