05/26/17 KNOWING THE TRUTH SETS US FREE FROM DECEPTION.

05/26/17 KNOWING THE TRUTH SETS US FREE FROM DECEPTION.

Those who disagree with a viewpoint or with a person will twist that person's words and misrepresent the nature of that person.

We need to know the person in question, and we need to hear that person's words ourselves, in order to determine the credibility of someone's explanation.

We also need to know and love God intimately and we need to know and believe His word thoroughly. If we don't, then the false teachers will lead us astray with their false interpretations. The false teachers employ tricks and methods that sidestep the clear and repeated word of God.

People are often led astray because they are impressed with supposed intellect or "new knowledge." Sometimes it does not take anything more convincing than simply the allure of darkness. I am always brought back to the account of Eve in the Garden. God said, "Do not eat," but the devil said, "eat;" God said, "you will surely die," but the devil said, "you won't die." Satan was able to deceive Eve, and Eve was able to mislead Adam. If they had stayed true to God and His word, they would not have sinned.

Unresisted temptation leads to sin.
Sin leads to separation from God.
Faith and obedience leads to holiness.
Holiness leads to life.

Romans 6:19-23
(19) I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
(20) For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
(21) What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
(22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
(23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

NOTE...
God's gift of eternal life is offered to the person who is in sin, but it is only possessed by the person who leaves sin to live and walk in the way of holiness.
