Some people do not tell a loved one that the doctor gives no hope for that loved one to survive their battle with cancer. They are afraid that the loved one will not be able to face the tragic news.
However, I face a different situation. I know that there are loved ones and friends who are "eaten up" with sin, facing total and irretrievable loss. I tell them their condition and try to persuade them to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN. But instead of acknowledging their own rebellion and lost condition, they become angry, argumentative, distant, resistant.
Our society is suffering an upheaval of family and church division. Satan has gotten hold of hearts and minds and lives and families, which have enjoyed the love, beauty, kindness, grace and blessing of God but now torn to shreds.
Pride and exaggerated desire were the original wedges that separated between God and the first family, and these two sins are still separating between God and men and between family members.
I can't say it LOUD or LONG enough,
* TURN to Christ.
* TURN from self pleasing.
* TRUST and FOLLOW Christ and His way.
* HUMBLE yourself.
* EMBRACE leadership and fellowship.
There is no time to waste, no time to delay, no time to lose.
Broken relationships, broken families, broken churches can be restored when people turn back to Biblical discipleship. God will redeem the worst of situations if the parties involved will die to self and allow Divine love to fill them.

Satan's plan is to destroy individuals, families, churches, communities, entire societies and as much of the world as he can. And it all begins with you.
You are either a fool, falling into his filthiness or you are a faithful follower of Christ.
Having it your way, doing it your way, going your way is just another way of saying you do not trust Christ as the right and only way.

The Body of Christ (the Church), is at war with the forces of darkness. This is not a new thing, but we are at a higher level of intensity in the western world than we have been in the past. And this is reasonable, since the Bible foretells a world that is out of control in the end times (2 Tm. 3:1-17).
GOVERNMENT IS GOD'S PROVISION
If we are at war, then what are the weapons of our warfare? God has provided various lines of support for those who face oppression and persecution (Ro. 13:3-4).
* A society shaped by Christian principles.
* A society that practices its jurisprudence and law enforcement based on Judeo/Christian heritage.
* A society that allows Christian legal defense.
These are secondary responses, which will work for a while, as it did for Paul. But as society deteriorates, these lines of defense will erode and fail. Depending on, "horses and chariots," and, "the arm of flesh" is not our primary response to persecution (Ps. 20:7).
OBEY GOD
The definitive Biblical response to oppression and persecution is, "Obey God." It is good when these other lines succeed in protecting believers. Persecution and oppression are going to come, regardless of the preventative measures we take. Godly living is going to face worldly opposition. These collateral methods have a modicum of success, but the most Biblical response, when being pressured to follow a false God is, "obey God," (Ac. 5:29).
Sin and corruption in America has been destroying our walls of protection, leaving believers with our primary response as our response of last resort; OBEY GOD. It will be costly, but it is the most Christian response. As long as we can benefit from other acceptable lines of protection, that is good, but personal faithfulness in the face of opposition is the requirement of God (2 Co. 10:4).

We need the fellowship of believers; our children and grandchildren need to see and hear people with Biblical courage and faith. The Scripture tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, especially in the persecution (He. 10:25).

Through the years I have been blessed to know and listen to folks worship and praise God through music. There have been parishioners in many of the churches I have pastored who produced some of the best songs I have ever heard.
Though I am not a singer or musician, God gave me a wife and children, children-in-law and grandchildren who are talented in several different ways. I am looking forward to making videos of some of our people singing, with our beautiful area as the background.

The Past
Suffering, heartache, failure, loss are realities that all of us have faced, whether we are saved or not. Most of the troubles of life are minuscule, passing, insignificant. (These troubles should not be an obstacle for the believer, yet most believers are so weak that they stumble over the shadow of a trial.)
The Present
Then the gnawing and nagging remembrance of the sufferings, heartaches, failures and losses haunts and torments people, long after the events itself. They are so focused on their hardships that the promise of God's deliverance becomes almost non existent.
However, for the one who truly trusts in Christ, there is deliverance from the shackles of negativity, both past and present. Divine victory miraculously overcomes the barriers to peace, love, joy, kindness, gentleness, patience, goodness and self control. Those who trust Christ are not only victorious over the mole hills of difficulty, they are also victorious over the mountains and deserts of major adversities and losses.
But what happens after we die?
The Future
We all have a future, whether we believe it or not, whether we want it or not. This life is the entry way into our eternal existence.
The Believer's Future
God has promised to WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS. They are not wiped away in this present world. They are wiped away after the Tribulation and after the Great White Throne Judgment, depending on when the specific believer lives in history. The wiping away of all tears after the final judgment will purge us of all negative and dark memories of the past. We will not be tormented by the fact that we have loved ones who did not trust Christ for salvation from sin and death. Our deliverance from all pain includes mental and emotional and spiritual pain. Heaven will not be plagued by the sins and suffering of loved ones.
The Sinner's Future
On the other hand, salvation from pain and anguish are not available for the lost. The grace that gives victory to the believer in this life is not only absent from the sinner now, it will be absent throughout all eternity.
Part of eternal suffering is the realization that, "I did not have to be here;" "I could have been saved." The sinner's scoffing memory that he/she actually rejected the many invitations and warnings of God and His messengers will rise like an agonizing and unrelenting tsunami from the Lake of Fire.
Another part of eternal suffering will be the crushing reality that loved ones are in totment also, because the person who is in hell could have had a redemptive influence on their loved ones, but rather chose to continue in their own rebellion and to be a roadblock to the salvation of others.
Throughout all eternity the sinner will constantly remember;

I came from a fishing and boating family, and you better believe we "fished" all the time. We didn't just talk about it because it was business, or because we had nothing else important in our lives, or because we were forced to talk about it. We talked about it because we loved it.
In fact, it is really strange to find a family that does not get excited and talk about shared interests.
How sad would it be for family members who claim the name of Jesus to never talk excitedly and lovingly about Christ, the Holy Bible, salvation, ministry, the lost, their blessings, grace and truth?

After someone replied, I thought about my post from a different perspective (sorry, "perspective" is the best word available). It depends on the use and understanding of the word, "misery."
We all go through extremely difficult situations. which cause us great distress, therefore we all experience "misery" in that sense. But this kind of misery is temporary, even for the unsaved person, since it is based upon circumstances.
However, when I posted, I was thinking about THE DEBILITATING MISERY I SEE IN PEOPLE, as an ongoing condition or state, as an integral part of their inner life. In those situations, misery is the absence of abiding joy. I think most people who know me and know my message probably knew that I was thinking about "the life of misery" rather than a momentary discomfort. I was trying to help people, who are not living in victory, to see that their misery, their daily, continuing, tormenting misery is overcome when the joy of the Lord comes into their lives.
Even in the extreme moments of suffering and sorrow in this life, we are delivered from the destructive effects of misery, when we trust Christ. Knowing that the heaviest of burdens is but a light and temporary affliction delivers me from the power of misery. Misery can be debilitating, but the delivering joy of the Lord is my strength.
Another defining phrase in my post were the words, "of the world." There are conditions of life that cause all of us misery for a moment, but the misery of the world, the misery caused by worldliness, the misery that originates from values based on the values of this world, the misery dictated by worldly views, are definitely flushed out by the joy of the Lord.
Believers have joy in the midst of their sorrow. Believers do not have the misery of the world. When believers are overcome by the world, we can turn to Christ for deliverance and He will deliver us, cleanse us from the debilitating, controlling negativity. As believers, we have the joy of the Lord: as Spirit filled and controlled believers, we have fullness of joy. The misery of the world does not coexist with the joy of the Lord.
No one has to live in misery. No one has to be overcome by clinging misery. Deliverance from this kind of misery is the miraculous work of God's grace. God replaces our misery, our torment, our tribulations with His grace, peace, comfort, joy, hope, faith.

Sadly, Trump is so out of touch with God and acceptable social decorum that he used profanity in his opening remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.
Don't be confused, Trump is not a Christian, and don't be confused, he is the President. As the President he is not appointed by God to lead IN the way of salvation (though he should); as a man, he is called to follow in the way of salvation. God will use Trump as President, but God will judge Trump as an individual.
Whatever good comes from Trumps leadership is the direct intervention of God. Trump needs to get saved, but regardless of his concern for God, God is concerned for this world, and is giving this sinking ship of humanity an opportunity to face up to its sins and put its faith in Christ.

(7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
(8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

How messed up would a person be if his eye was jealous of his foot, if his ear was suspicious of his hand, if his hair hated his nose, or if his foot did not work together with his eye, or the mouth was at war with the hand? What a freaky idea.
How messed up would a family or church be if the members were this disjointed and antagonistic and independent? Sadly, this is not such a strange idea.
The people of God have the grace and power of God to heal and deliver from such maladies. But each part must be willing to let God rule in his life.

I post a lot. I know that. I try to make it a mix of serious, social and silly, because that is who I am. I also realize that my constant posting bothers some folks, especially the serious articles, either because they don't agree with me or because they are looking for less stressful posting. I understand.
Although I may not be into the games, the recipes, the pets and some other things, as much as some of my friends, I think it is great that they are able to use social media for their own purposes.
My serious posting is meant to be helpful. I realize that we are bombarded by all kinds of issues and viewpoints on television, magazines, newspapers, radio, the water cooler, the backyard fence and the internet. I try to provide a Biblical response to the current events. I try to encourage and remind and inform believers, concerning the Biblical view of today's hot topics. I am not trying to shove anything down anyone's throat. But with our society being in constant change and believers being in constant battle, I want to be helpful to those who are interested in my viewpoint.
There are others who do an excellent job of informing. I think I have something to offer because I have been dealing with Liberalism in theology and government and education and daily life, from a Biblical and personal point of view for over 50 years.
There are facets of the Christian life that do not change, but we as Christians are either going to address a changing world in a meaningful way or we are going to miss our opportunities. My posts are intended to help believers know how to live a faithful and consistent Christian life in this changing world.
With so much being thrown at us that is contrary to the Christian life and message, I am offering support to those who are open to exhortation. The following passage is my basis for being relentless.

My son David posted that when people argue for allowing Muslims into our country, they reference the Old Testament directive to Israel and Judah to take in the stranger, foreigner, alien, and then David correctly adds that the Old Testament also told Israel not to allow the foreign gods to come in with the foreigner.
I not only agree with this observation, I also point out that Israel was ruled by God as a Theocracy. THERE IS NO THEOCRACY TODAY. The USA is not a Theocracy. As the King, God gave command to Israel and Judah to kill those who worship false gods. America is not a Theocracy, the USA is not under the same rules of Israel or Judah.
However, there is an Old Testament principle we can apply here, and it supported by New Testament principles. When people had terrible sickness (as leprosy, which is Biblically typical of sin) in Israel or Judah, they were to treat the afflicted mercifully, but the lepers were to be kept separate from the population, including family members, until they were healed and cleansed. The New Testament tells us that evil companions corrupt good behavior and that we are not to be companions with those who are idolaters. It is wrong to wish God's blessing on those who follow false gods.
Christians can, AND SHOULD, be compassionate and welcoming to the lost, and even our enemies, but we must not be receptive to the false gods of this world, even if our families are dedicated to those false gods.
When I meet and converse with a Muslim (or Mormon or any other follower of a false religion) I reach out in love, but I do not make them my companions. Light cannot be companion to darkness. When I meet a pedophile, or a druggie, or a homosexual, or anyone who walks in opposition to God's revealed word, I love that person, but I do not allow that person to freely wield an influence over my life or the lives of my loved ones. Christian compassion reaches out to the lost, but it does not make the ungodly its companion.
Also remember, the directives God gives to Christians in our ministry to the lost, are not the same directives God gives for leaders in leading nations. The State has the right to wield the sword of steel, but the Church is given the Sword of the Spirit. The State has the responsibility to protect the righteous from its enemies. Since before the time of America's founding as a nation, Islam has been the enemy of Christianity and the principles of America. It is right that Christians love our enemies. It is not evil for our leaders to protect our nation from our enemies.

So, if Houthi rebels, who attacked a Saudi warship, were supported by Iran, and if Obama's America supported Iran with BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, then doesn't that mean that America supported the Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia? (Martha brought this to my attention).
I guess I am just too simple to understand the issues. In fact, I must be really super simple, because the Liberals stand by Obama's support of Iran (#1 supporter in terrorism in the world) and Conservatives stand by Saudi Arabia, the other main player in terrorism and Christian persecution (a perennial world leader).

Americans are so much smarter and understanding and compassionate than stupid Christians who live in Isalamic countries. Those poor backward, and intolerant Christians don't know how wonderful it is to live in a place where Muslims do what they want to do, where Muslims don't have to live in a pluralistic society, where Islam is the predominant and official religion. If those poor deluded Christians knew how wonderful Islam is they would quit burning their own houses down, selling their children into slavery, raping their daughters and sisters and mothers, beheading their pastors.
Or maybe the Muslims do it to the Christians because the Christians are so oppressive. Maybe the atmosphere in America makes blood thirsty Muslims into nice guys.

Ya ever wonder why otherwise nice, loving, kind, morally driven, friendly people are united in their resistance to...
* killing babies,* sexual relations outside of marriage,* homosexuality,* promoting Islam and mocking Christianity,* gambling,* drugging (smoking, drinking, shooting, sniffing, popping, or whatever),* profanity,* obscenity,* and a growing list of other socially acceptable activities?
Because the God of the Christian Scriptures "says so." It is not just a matter of interpretation. God does not condemn these evils because He is a "divine spoiled sport." He condemns that which is bad for us and that which is contrary to His holiness. Remember, He is God, and we accept what He says, because He says it. PERIOD.
It is called sin, and sin has always been acceptable to those who reject God as their ultimate authority. Sin (at varying levels) is the preferred way of life for those who do not accept God's authority.
And notice, Bible believing, Christ following people are the only ones that are not given any tolerance in a world of tolerance. Don't forget, Christians have been slaves of sin and then realized that Jesus died and rose again to save us from our sins. We loved sin until we received Christ. We love sinners, because Christ died for them, but we hate sin because God hates it.
We choose to walk in the way of God, because we love Him, not because we are "kill joys."
God arbitrarily determines the code of life and God allows humans to choose whether we will live by His righteousness or against His will. We do not have the choice as to what is His will.

The best way to get a Liberal to agree with a Republican complaint, which they raise against a Democratic Administration, is for a Republican Administration to do the same thing when they are in office. All of a sudden the Democrats see the error, but still won't take blame for doing the same things.
I have been crying out about the evil alliance between America and Saudi Arabia for decades. Now that Trump has halted refugees from certain Muslim countries, we see that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are exempt. This is in keeping with one of the oldest false religions in the world... GREED, WHICH IS IDOLATRY. To be honest, I did not expect Trump to clamp down on the wicked Saudi government, because it would cost America large financial loss. Remember, the Bible says, "the love of money is the root of all evil."
Islam has always been the enemy of this country, and the western world, but there are certain factors that draw men into alliance with evil nations, such as mutual hatred of Jews, love of money, fear of Islamic swords.
I don't expect the millennium to be set up until the King comes back. God does hear and answer prayers. I believe the good things that are happening is God's response to the faithful prayers of those who call on Him.

If you think the world is in turmoil now, wait until God withdraws His Holy Spirit and His children from this world and turns all the powers of darkness loose.
ON SECOND THOUGHT, don't wait for that to happen, because then it will be too late to get right with God. When you miss the rapture, when you get Left Behind, there will be no chance for you or others who have resisted and rejected the gospel to get saved. You will be left here to serve the god of darkness and then you will end up separated from God forever and ever, in the Lake of Fire.

I don't get too worried about Trump (or anyone) saying that it is possible that he would waterboard a known terrorist in order to save people from a terrorist attack.
Like it or not, war is a nasty business that requires extreme actions by the leaders of nations. I don't like the idea of waterboarding, of bombing, of shooting, of imprisonment, of young men dying in the line of duty, but national defense is the State's primary business, as decreed by God.
Killing is wrong, but God gives the sword to the State (through the military and police and justice system). God does not allow killing otherwise or the use of the sword. God will hold leaders accountable for failing to protect the righteous and He will hold them accountable for misapplying their authority.
We cannot understand the will of God if we make the Church live by God's rule for the State, and make the State live by God's rule for the Church. They are separate entities in the Hand of God. The Church administers grace and salvation and the State administers protection and punishment. The State does not rule the Church and the Church does not rule the State.
And, By The Way,

God is One, and God wants to be one with His people and God wants His people to be one with one another and God wants husbands and wives to be one in Christ.
Spiritually Discerned
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
It is beyond our ability to explain or understand:
* The ONENESS of God (One God in Three Persons),
* The oneness of reconciliation (believers become one with God),
* The oneness of the Church (spiritual unity, which transcends time and space),
* The oneness of marriage (when a man and a woman become one flesh).
(Note that oneness or unity is not the same in each of these categories).
Divine Work And Revelation
However, oneness in each of these cases indicates that there is at least a spiritual, mystical, and relational unity or union that exists.
Definition of "mystical."
a : having a spiritual meaning or reality that is neither apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence
b : involving or having the nature of an individual's direct subjective communion with God or ultimate reality
Divine Origin
* God is One by nature. There is only One God, though He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

* Believers are one with each other because they share the nature of God and are accepted into His family because of His grace
* Husband and wife becomes one, in a way that corresponds to the way the believer and Christ becomes one, through Divine action and human submission.
Divine Love Factor
* The Unity and Oneness of the Father and Son and Holy Spirit is eternally based in the nature of God, and the nature of God is love and holiness.
* The unity and oneness between God and man through the reconciling work of Christ is not unilaterally imposed, but is the result of loving, trusting, obedient, redeemed people responding to the gracious, merciful and loving gift of God.
* The unity of believers with one another in the Church is based in a love relationship, which is then manifested through self sacrifice, kindness and good deeds.
* The unity and oneness of a husband and wife is a Divine work, but it only comes to full fruition when the husband and wife love one another with Divine, holy and self denying love, and are willing to lose their individual identity in sacrificial service to one another. There is probably no human relationship or institution that has the potential for greater good than a husband and wife that have become one flesh, and then grow in that relationship throughout their earthly lives together.

The devil does not have to get us to spend our energy in wicked pursuits. All he has to do is get us to whine about our problems. It all produces dark negativity.
If we complain long enough, we don't even realize we are complaining; we just think we are commenting. Maybe inside of our own minds we are well balanced, but a regular flow of fussing indicates to those who observe us that we have an inner imbalance.
By the way, if we are going to be imbalanced, we should lean toward the praise and positive side. Our focus determines our balance.

(6) In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

In fact, they hold to sinning religion as to an idol. When people follow the teachings of a man or of a system, as opposed to the teachings of the Bible, they are being idolatrous. To refuse God's way of escape from sin is to idolize sin and false doctrine.
I realize that the context is based on the previous verses. However, the application I make is valid, because idolatry is the act of putting something in the place of God. Here are some Biblical facts of life.

* God is the Author of Human Government.
* God appointed Human Government as His instrument of civil order in an unredeemed world.
* Though God established Israel, and set apart Judah, as His earthly kingdoms in the Old Testament, God does not have an earthly kingdom in the world today.
* The kingdom of God today is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy.
* The kingdom of God today is the rule of God in the hearts of those who trust Jesus as their Lord, Master, King, and Head of the Church.
* Though God does not have an earthly kingdom today, He expects His moral law to be the standard for all men.
* God gave the responsibility for spiritual order to the Church, and the responsibility for civil order to the State.
* The State and the Church are required to be subservient to God in this present world.
* The Church does not rule the State and is not ruled by the State. Both are ruled by God.
* Anyone or any government that does not submit to the moral law of God is lawless and condemned.

This is not the foundation for a Theocratic rule or kingdom. Men are still free to choose their pathways. But God has not suspended His rule, though He allows people to choose their loyalties. Human Government is not a Divine form of the movie series, "The Purge." God allows human rebellion, He does not sanction human rebellion.

While I was focused on a particular subject, all of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere, a negative and hurtful thought came to mind. Some time ago, a person I don't even know and have only seen a couple of times, intentionally said something unkind to me, which was intended to hurt me. Though I continued to concentrate on my other project, the adversary of God and peace tried to divert my thoughts. I responded by just leaving it with God. Immediately the nagging devil was defeated.
BUT IT CAUSED ME TO REALIZE
As I was thinking about how tormenting a non issue can be, I realized that some people take their anger, their hurt, their spite, their suspicions, their thoughts of retaliation to the grave with them. They do not bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, when Satan attacks their minds, and as a result they harbor and empower nagging, destructive, bitter thoughts throughout their lives.
HOWEVER
When a person does not turn loose of the negative, nasty, mean thoughts and insults (the thoughts that are not Christlike), they are not only plagued with those thoughts to the grave, they carry their diseased minds into eternity and suffer unrelenting and increasing attacks forever.
IT IS BETTER
God's plan is for us to forgive and love our foes, our friends and our family and to turn to Jesus when we are attacked by Satan. If we will not abandon evil thoughts in this life, we will be tortured by them forever. The longer you hold on to something, the harder it is to turn loose of it. Not because we can overcome temptation by our own strength, but because the miracle of regenerating salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit makes it possible and makes it actual. Everyone is loving. The problem is, what kind of love do they have and what is the object of that love.
* Love of self is destructive.* Love of pleasure is destructive.* Love of the world is destructive.* Love of spiritual darkness is destructive.
BUT THE LOVE OF GOD IN US IS CONSTRUCTIVE
My observation is, the more a person loves Jesus, the more he/she wants love to flourish in his/her own life and in the lives of those around him/her.
Jealousy, suspicion, envy, hatred, anger, lust, greed, deceit, judgmentalism are overcome and purged by the fullness of God's love. In fact, walking in love is the fulfilling of the law.

I know that Obama was not the friend of America, or the friend of Christianity, or the friend of either whites or blacks, or the friend of justice, or the friend of Capitalism, or the friend of the pre-born and new born. Don't be blinded by color or race. It is not about color or race, it is about truth and righteousness.
Don't ever forget that George Washington was not crowned king over America; he was elected President. America has no earthly king. Americans do not bow to earthly kings. Christians have only one king, and His name is Jesus.
The question of a man's fitness to lead a nation is not based on skin, but sin.

I taught and preached last evening from, The Donkey Takes A Beating, in Numbers 22:22-35. (you really should have been here).
I am hoping to share some of those thoughts with you in a video, but let me make this one observation here.
ABANDONING THE WAY OF GOD BRINGS SUFFERING
Though God reached out in redemptive mercy, the rebellious prophet suffered injury and almost lost his life, because he had resisted and rejected the known will of God.
We can't turn from the way of God without suffering along the way.
The more we turn,
The more we spurn,
The less we'll learn,
And possibly burn.
Life is a cause and effect proposition. You reap what you sow.
Galatians 6:7-8
(7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
(8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Romans 2:4-11
(4) Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

01/19/17 ONE OF OUR ADVANTAGES...
One of the advantages that comes with being an active part of a local body of believers is the restorative ministry of spiritual leaders.
Galatians 6:1
(1) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Paul is not talking about habitual, continual, premeditated sin. He is talking about the sudden, unexpected moral failures that anyone can fall into. This does not mean that we have to sin, but if we do sin we have spiritual leaders that lovingly and wisely help us to see our error (sin) and they lead us into restoration with God and His church. As John said, "IF anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Christ Jesus, the righteous."
Notice that the restorers are spiritual people; people who are focused on spiritual reality, people who are living in the power and light and love of the Holy Spirit. These spiritual leaders are more concerned about restoring the offender than upbraiding the offender. These spiritual leaders also realize that they are still subject to temptation and can fail God. They minister to others in a state of meekness, not machismo.
Sadly, those who do not choose to be subject to Christ and His body will not be restored from the sudden and unexpected failure. As a result they become deliberate and continuous offenders. They will not be restored until God has implemented severer methods to reach the rebellious person.
God wants to draw us through love and kindness, but if we will not humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways, God will employ harsher tactics to drive us to our knees. God wants to reach us through blessing, but if we will not hear and heed His call, He will seek to reach us through sorrow. BLESSING IS BETTER THAN SORROW. Still, God does not choose for us. God leaves the decision to us.
Interestingly enough, this post is not really addressed to those who believe in the erroneous belief in unilateral, unconditional, double election. This message is for those who know that they are responsible for their own choices, but they have drifted away from their first love and now live in a cloud of deception, thinking that they don't need to be confronted, corrected, convinced and converted.
I see this spiritual haughtiness among those who have been part of holiness churches. It is Satan's way of mocking the work of God and weakening His body. God wants to save us from presumption, and He will keep us from greater failure, if we are an humble part of a loving body of believers.

I get a kick out of all the people and organizations that cry out about "fake news" and then update the ongoing saga about "Chelsea Manning" and "her" situation.
I laugh, but then I realize, they are not joking. They really think that the guy is a gal. How sad is that?
Then the fake gets even more twisted. Obama pardons Manning. Now that does not surprise me. Too bad Obama did not do it earlier. Then he could have groped "her" like he does women.
C'mon people, you have to be sane and honest, no matter what the media, the government and society does.

God can use anyone He chooses to accomplish His will. Sometimes evil leaders have been thwarted in their wicked schemes, and sometimes God has allowed evil leaders to do things that ultimately accomplished His will (in spite of themselves), and sometimes He has allowed evil leaders to add to a nation's cup of iniquity.
God allowed us to have Obama, and allowed great wickedness under Obama, but God also kept us from total collapse. Obama was not our hope. Obama was not a man of God.
God has allowed us to have Trump. We don't really know how that will go. But regardless of Trump's leading, God is still the final authority. Don't buy into Trump just because he is Trump, and don't dismiss what God might do in spite of Trump.
(By the way, Obama and Trump both need Christ and His salvation, just as we all do.)
Do not transfer from the Glory Train of Christ to the Trump Train, any more than you should have transferred from the Glory Train of Christ to the Obama train. Be a good citizen, but always remember, as a Christian you have duel citizenship. You are a citizen of heaven, with Christ as your King, and you are also a citizen of whatever earthly country you belong. Duel citizenship does not mean equal allegiance.
Our loyalty belongs to God. The Bible tells us that God is our King, our Lawgiver and our Judge. No ruler, no law, no court has more authority.
As Christians, Jesus is Lord of our lives, and that encompasses all of life. Don't pledge (vow, promise, commit) your allegiance (loyalty) to anyone other than Jesus because that is idolatry. Remember, the "State" has been served and revered as a false god since the days of Nimrod and the rise of Babel and it will be the instrument used by the false god who rules during the corrupt days of the end times.

The song, "The Love Of God," has been on my mind recently. As I reflected on the "...great love wherewith He loved us" I thought about the fact that God loved the most immoral monsters in history. Jesus died for these monsters, but the monsters continue to resist and reject the saving grace of Christ. Here are some of those monsters.
*Hitler is the one who comes to mind immediately, since he was responsible for the murder of 17 million people killed, of which 6+ million were Jews. But there are others who contend for The Greatest Monster In History, such as:
*Mao Zedong, responsible for killing 50 to 80 million people (China).
* Josef Stalin, attributed as the reason for murdering 20 to 60 million people (Russia).
* Tojo accredited with the murder of 5 million people (Japan).
* Pol Pot (Cambodia), *Kim Il Sung (N. Korea) and a host of others.
However, I consider Barack Obama as a candidate. Here is why. Obama has supported and forced the U.S. Government sponsored killing of millions of babies and has participated (knowingly and willingly) in the destruction of the people and nation of Israel.
Obama's baby killing is seen in his support and promotion of late term abortion and partial birth abortion, which allows for the beheading of partially born babies. He has made abortion a State sponsored horror show and he is married to Planned Parenthood, which provides 78% of U.S. abortions. Of those murders, a vast majority are the killing of Black and Hispanic babies, though the population is primarily white. Obama has taken steps to force Christians and other pro-life people to pay for the crime, the sin, the horror of murdering babies. Obama is a rapist of religious virtue.
* Obama was born to a Muslim father (who left Obama when he was two years old).
* Obama was eventually adopted by a Muslim stepfather.
* Obama was educated and trained in Muslim schools as a child.
* Obama has openly declared his admiration of Islam and openly mocked the Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments of the Jews and the Christians), while lauding the Koran of Islam.
* Obama has consistently undermined the stability of Israel, and the right of Israel to exist as a nation. His supposed support of Israel is a smoke screen that actually is designed to choke the life out of Israel. Obama wants to give Israeli territory to Muslims, who want Israel to be destroyed from the face of the earth.
There are many other reasons that Obama ranks with the world's worst people, but these two examples are irrefutable and conclusive to any free thinking person.

Obama has taken steps to force Christians and other pro-life people to pay for the crime, the sin, the horror of murdering babies. Obama is a rapist of religious virtue.
* Obama was born to a Muslim father (who left Obama when he was two years old).
* Obama was eventually adopted by a Muslim stepfather.
* Obama was educated and trained in Muslim schools as a child.
* Obama has openly declared his admiration of Islam and openly mocked the Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments of the Jews and the Christians), while lauding the Koran of Islam.
* Obama has consistently undermined the stability of Israel, and the right of Israel to exist as a nation. His supposed support of Israel is a smoke screen that actually is designed to choke the life out of Israel. Obama wants to give Israeli territory to Muslims, who want Israel to be destroyed from the face of the earth.
There are many other reasons that Obama ranks with the world's worst people, but these two examples are irrefutable and conclusive to any free thinking person.

I remember that in 1959, Democrat neighbors hung President Eisenhower in effigy. Those people were considered to be outside of the social norm in that day. Well, today the Democratic party has caught up with the few loose screws of the past.

01/14/17 SATISFIED WITH LONG LIFE
The beautiful, but short, 91st Psalm ends with these words,
Psalms 91:16
(16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
A life lived in surrender to God is a life lived to its fullness, especially the life of a person who received Christ early. It is vital to lead our children to Christ at an early age and then provide them with every spiritual advantage.
As parents and other influences (including older siblings),
* We must be spiritual models, by leading them to life on the highest plain if we want them to escape the quick sands of sin and rebellion.
* We must provide them with a loving, victorious and a Christ centered home, because their view of God and church will be formed around their view of parents and family.
* We must make sure that they are part of a church that is based on strong Bible teaching and preaching.
* We must guard and guide our children, realizing that they are precious gifts with eternal souls.
* As Jesus said, Woe to those offend the little ones.
Christians do not leave this world in death, thinking that all of life's needs have been satisfied or because they are tired of serving Christ. However, Christians can die with the satisfaction that they have spent their lives doing the will of God. Paul told Timothy (and us),
2 Timothy 4:5-8
(5) But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
(6) For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
(7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
(8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Especially notice the three points in verse seven.
* I have fought the good fight,
* I have finished my course,
* I have kept the faith.
FIGHT YOUR GOOD FIGHT
The Christian life is a lifelong war with temptation and trials, as well as with Satan and his evil world system. If we want to be satisfied with long life, then we must not seek to satisfy ourselves on the husks around us. To be a truly satisfied person requires that we please God. Pleasing God is not just the form of godliness, but the living reality of Christ in us, overcoming temptation and living in the the victory of holiness.
FINISH YOUR COURSE
The Christian life is a God planned tour, a God ordained course. From the beginning to the end, we must obediently trust Christ. There is no time for self absorption or self actualization or self aggrandizement. It requires thoughtful and deliberate discipline to find, follow and finish the path of God.
KEEP YOUR FAITH* The Christian life is a life of faith.* Faith focuses on Jesus, rather than on self or the world.* Faith transcends the temporal and lives for the eternal* Faith is a growing dynamic that requires continuous alertness and constant surrender.
