CREDIT OR BLAMEDon't blame your defeat and sin on God. He provided the way of escape. (1 Co. 10:13)
1 Corinthians 10:13
(13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

01/24/17 IT JUST HIT ME...
Look at the verse that follows 1 Co. 10:13.

1 Corinthians 10:13-14
(13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
(14) Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Those who hold to sinning religion have to do it in spite of...

* the will of God
the grace of Godthe sacrifice of Godthe word of Godthe salvation of Godthe power of Godthe Son of Godthe Holy Spirit of God

In fact, they hold to sinning religion as to an idol. When people follow the teachings of a man or of a system, as opposed to the teachings of the Bible, they are being idolatrous. To refuse God's way of escape from sin is to idolize sin and false doctrine.

I realize that the context is based on the previous verses. However, the application I make is valid, because idolatry is the act of putting something in the place of God. God's plan and provision for us not to sin is replaced by Satan's lie that says God does not save us from sin. The lie of sinning religion has taken the place of God. The lying teachers that have raised up sinning religion have taken the place of God. Sin and the following of false teachers is idolatry because it has taken the place of God.
