01/04/17 WORK'S SALVATION AND WORK-LESS SALVATION

01/04/17 WORK'S SALVATION AND WORK-LESS SALVATION
(are both opposed to God's salvation that works).

I have been reviewing the false doctrines of Catholicism, Mormonism, 7th Day Adventism, Russellism (JWs). I am amazed at how many people who are educated and reasonable can be so mistaken. It is true that all of these groups do believe in a "works salvation" (the belief that attempted personal works of righteousness are salvific). The thing that amazes me is that others, who claim to believe the same Bible I believe, accuse those of us who are in the Wesleyan/Arminian camp, as holding to and following the same errant view of salvation that the is held by the four cults I mentioned earlier in this paragraph.

The Bible clearly teaches that a true follower of Christ has turned from sin and is walking in light, is walking in righteousness.
The new life that a believer has is not to be confused with a life of self righteousness and works righteousness.
The life of a believer is a life that is evidenced by the "righteousness of faith" or the "righteousness by faith."

Believers do not do good works in order to earn salvation, we do good works because we are saved by God in order to do good works.

Believers do not turn from sinful living in order to earn salvation, we turn from sinful behavior because God has saved us from sin.

Sadly, people have been taught another gospel that excuses and accepts sin in the Christian life and denies that the grace of God saves us from our sin and sins in this present evil world. Satan has deceived people, as he did Eve, into accepting disobedience to God as normal.

2 Corinthians 11:3
(3)  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
