12/26/17 GOD CALLS AND EQUIPS HIS "SINGERS"

12/26/17 GOD CALLS AND EQUIPS HIS "SINGERS"
(literally and figuratively)

Singing in the Lord's choir requires a special unity. We are all different from one another and no one is God or can ever become God, therefore we do not "sing" the lead, since only God can lead us. However, we can be in harmony with God.

It is the harmony of spirit. God requires a person to be in harmony with Himself and with fellow believers. This does not mean that we will never miss a note or sing off key or forget the words, but we will do everything possible to be in agreement (inwardly as well as outwardly) to secure a right relationship with the family of God. When (and if) we are not in sync or in tune, we will listen to correction and make whatever change is necessary to please God.

It is impossible for us to bring God glory in song if we are in discord with either Him or each other. God is One and God demands that His people be one with Him and with one another. This means that we must deny self, we must seek each other's good, we must humble ourselves and submit to one another in love.

We also must be singing the same song and singing from the same page. Unless the song calls for a solo or special performance from us individually, we must not lag behind or rush ahead or overpower others around us.

Listen to a well trained choir or orchestra. Notice how they follow the conductor or leader.
Then note how much better they sound when they meet all the criteria I have mentioned in this post.

In the same way, the voice of God through His people is much more clear, true, receptive when it is "sung" through those who know and fulfill their "part" in "singing praise to God," whether they are singers in a choir or members of the body of Christ doing their part as the people of God.
