12/07/17 A TEXT OUT OF CONTEXT IS A PRETEXT

As I watch highly skilled and trained teachers explain all or some of the five points of Calvinism, I realize how important it is to actually know the word of God and to accept the clear revelation of God, without fancy footwork. Sadly, men are more impressed with human wisdom than with Divine revelation.

I watched a video of Norman Geisler explain why he is not a "5 point" Calvinist. But when it came to so-called "perseverance of the saints" (also referred to errantly as "eternal security" and "once saved, always saved"), Geisler contradicted himself and lifted Scripture out of context.

Watch out for the merchants of misdirection. Human wisdom is the manifestation of the carnal mind and the tool of the Deceiver. The devil will find a few verses that he will twist to imply his lie, but he will blind people to the dozens, hundreds of passages that clearly reveal God's mind.

Remember,
A text out of context is a pretext.
