08/19/17 A COUPLE OF THE COMPONENTS OF AN ON FIRE CHURCH.
An ON FIRE church is a made up of people who want the preacher to tell them the truth about themselves, no matter how much it hurts, because they are willing to make whatever changes need to be made for the One Who gave Himself completely to save them the twists and corruption of their self orientation..
This kind of congregation also realizes that their straight shooting preacher is also a compassionate lover of their souls, a...nd he is not seeking to perfect them for his own glory, but for the glory of God and their own good.
Very few congregations have a vision of becoming a community of firebrands for Jesus, and very few congregants really want a preacher who will tell them the truth about their flaws and short comings.
Think what kind of service we would have this Sunday if each parishioner came to service crying out for the mercy and grace of God instead of standing in their own "worthiness."
