08/16/17 GOD CALLS US TO SEND US

Ministry ops in local church. There is plenty to do, regardless of the size of your church.

The problem is not
lack of need, or lack of opportunity, or lack of resources,
but
lack of vision, lack of commitment, lack of workers.

Matthew 9:36-38
(36) But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
(37) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
(38) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Music. Teaching. Youth. Children. Seniors. Evangelism. Publications. Food pantry. Missions. Singles. Helps. Office. Broadcasting. Social media. IT support. Property management. Cross cultural. Sports. And many other areas of need, waiting for sacrificial volunteers.

I have had the privilege to pastor larger and smaller churches, richer and poorer congregations, established and transient ministries. But a common component to successful ministry is that no matter how busy life may be, the true worker of God does not put ministry on the back burner. Serving God and His body and reaching the world is a priority for the totally dedicated follower of Christ.

If we don't do the work in our own local church, but instead we look to have our needs met by a larger congregation, the problem is not the size of our church but the size of the vision and faith and commitment in our church.

If we wait until a more convenient time, we will never serve God.
If we wait until personal affairs are all lined up, we will never serve God.
If we wait until there is enough time, money, energy, we will never serve God.
