10/11/17 WE CANNOT JUDGE OTHERS JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HERE.

10/11/17 WE CANNOT JUDGE OTHERS JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HERE.

There are people today who sit in judgment on other people from other climes and times and they condemn them because they did not live by the same light, enlightenment, that these present day "seers" and "gurus" have received.

It is possible for a person to live according to the light he has received, but not according to a greater light someone else has received. REMEMBER, "he that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." Sin is not subjective, but accountability is determined by God, rather than by men. While we can point out the error and the sins of another place and time, we cannot judge other believers.

Two thoughts here.

1. God has condemned the prideful judgment of other people. When we judge others we usurp God's authority. There is no allowance for judging others simply because they are separated by time or space. Yes, sometimes there are major gaps of understanding between different cultures, but God still condemns judging His children.

2. By their own admission these same people who judge others are still growing in grace and knowledge, which indicates that they do not have a perfect understanding of the Christian life. I doubt that they would appreciate a future, more enlightened Christian community viciously attacking them, and I doubt that their descendents would appreciate anyone dishonoring their memory.

This false sense of superiority and judgmentalism has allowed tearing down monuments, destroying documents, condemning people and demonizing entire cultures. It has been accompanied with false accusations, misrepresentations and sectarianism, in order to advance a particular theory or viewpoint. As I said, God does not allow Christians to treat fellow believers this way, regardless of time or space.

When people who claim to be Christians do this, it gives unbridled liberty to the unsaved to attack the good that has been done by those people and during those distant times. This results in anarchy.

Welcome to 2017.
