04/06/17 DISCIPLES ARE DISCIPLINED
Being a DISCIPLE, a follower and a learner of Christ, requires a person to submit to DISCIPLINE, training and obedience, according to Biblical authority.
Whatever it is, it isn't Biblical Christianity when a person refuses to be confronted, counseled, challenged, criticized and corrected by legitimate spiritual leadership. I watch as modern "Christianity" defies Biblical authority. The biggest change takes place at conversion, but the life of a believer is a continual growing experience, requiring abandonment of former treasures and acceptance of new responsibilities.
Hebrews 13:7
(7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Hebrews 13:17
(17) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Colossians 1:28-29
(28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(29) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
